What the course will cover
What the course will cover
This course will cover everything that you need to know about ACL's to enable you to understand their operation and confidently manage ACLs within your ServiceNow environment.
This course is broad in nature covering all important concepts of ACLs and provides you with a wealth of ACL information in one location that you can refer to in the future as you extend your competency with ACLs.
Purpose
From my own experience as a ServiceNow Developer I know how challenging it can be to understand the complex interaction of ACLs, especially when they are impacting a Production environment.
The course is designed to take you from being unfamiliar with ACLs starting with an explanation of their purpose, the elements that make an ACL and their operation, and then elevate your confidence as we move to more advanced topics and uses of ACLs including troubleshooting and debugging.
Intended Audience
The intended audience for this course is primarily administrators and developers of the ServiceNow platform and people who are attempting to achieve their ServiceNow Administrator Certificate, however anyone with an interest in ACLs and ServiceNow security will find this course of use.
Ultimately, this course is deigned to be a reference guide for you that will help any ServiceNow Administrator or Developer operate with confidence when working on ACLs.
Admin Tip
ServiceNow provides developers with a free to use instance of ServiceNow called a Personal Developer Instance. If you have not already got one I would recommend grabbing one from https://developer.servicenow.com/.
Your PDI is a fully functional instance of ServiceNow and acquiring one would be very useful for you as you complete this course, as they provide you the perfect playground for experimenting with ACLs without running the risk of doing so within a commercial instance of ServiceNow.
Throughout this course I would suggest that you try out the topics we cover by creating and experimenting with ACLs within your Personal Developer Instance.
